New Talk, New News

Well, this week in the world of football there has been a lot going on.  An NFL defensive tackle, Gerald McCoy was placed on the IR for, in my opinion, one of the worst injuries you could recieve.  Also, Joe Paterno was just fired from the head coaching position of the Penn State Nittany Lions.

First off, Gerald McCoy.  This starting defensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Bucaccaneers will have to sit out for the rest of the season with a torn bicep.  This week in regular season action against the New Orleans Saints was when the injury occurred.  This is the second year in a row that he will have to prematurely end his season because of a torn bicep. However, last year it was his left bicep that was torn.  It is obvious that the already struggling Buccanneers(4-4) will take a major hit from this loss.  If the Bucs would have won this game it would have kept them in second place in the NFC South with a shot at a conference championship.  However, with the lost the dropped to third with little to no hope of winning conference, qualifying for playoffs or even having a chance at the wild card slot.

Next up, Joe Paterno.  This is a major controversy that I have VERY mixed emotions on.  I recognize that Joe did what he was legally obligated to do by passing it on the athletic director.  I realize that he can not go to the cops, he can not because he would have been going on accusations that he heard.  But, what I do not get is even after the incident occurred and Sandusky no longer coached, JoePa still allowed him in the State College campus.  He should not have let Sandusky hang around the campus, or practice, Sandusky even had kids with him at some of the practices he attended.  Sandusky is a sick freak.  JoePa should have recognized this and not allowed him on the campus.  You would figure that since Joe is a father and grandfather, that he would be a whole lot more sensitive to this issue and take drastic action to ensure that this would not happen again.  Unfortunately, he did not and since the first accusation there have been quite a few kids that have come out saying that they have had...unfortunate...run ins with Sandusky recently.  I don't know what should be done and that is why I am in the position to make these decisions.

Overall, it has been a very wierd and unfortunate week in the world of football.  Well, until next time, The Guru is out.

Season over

I'm back, I'm back, I'm back.  It's okay don't worry I won't leave you again, Arra.  I think I'm going to post even when I'm done with this class.  <3   :)   Hehehehe okay I'll get started if you insist, only for Stanley of course.

Okay so our season is over now and we went out with a bang.  We destroyed Amherst 52-0.  We were able to throw the ball and run it as well.  We even put in a half back pass for Coach Dlugosz's father.  It went for a touchdown.  Chris said that he was so nervous when the ball was in the air.  He said that Mr. Dlugosz caught that pass for him.  I'm sure that made coach happy.  So yeah, we went undefeated in the SWC and we were the first team to do that since 2007.
Even though we went 8-2 we did not make it into the playoffs.  If we had been in any other region in Ohio we would have made it in.  Region 2 is that hardest region to qualify for playoffs and we were ranked 9th by .2 points, you need to be in the top 8 to make it in.  That was a real heart-breaker.
We would have made it in if Shaker had not forfeited in week 8.  I don't know what their coach was thinking.
We also would have made it in if Toledo Whitmer would have been disqualified.  They have been illegally recruiting players and they have players playing that don't even live in Ohio.  THEY LIVE IN MICHIGAN!!!

]Oh well, what's done is done.  We had a very good season and I will never forget these memories.
Until next time, the Guru is out.
